Accounting Assistant

Job Description

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Salary Range: $25.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Responsible for month end process including adjusting entries
Monthly bank reconciliation including preparation of journal entries
Prepares and analyzes monthly account reconciliations
Assists with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances
Maintain accurate inter-company reconciliations
Knowledgeable on the process to close books at the end of the month and produce clean monthly financial statements
Asses and apply existing accounting methodologies to ensure GAAP is correctly applied and remediate where necessary
Own daily accounting tasks including AR/AP

Requirements

Bachelor degree in Accounting preferred; or Bachelor degree in Business accepted with related experience; Equivalent experience accepted
3+ years experience in finance/accounting riles
2+ years experience with QuickBooks online
Excellent knowledge of double entry accounting and its procedures or requirements
Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
Good judgement and analytical skills
