Accounts Payable Specialist

Join SMX as an Accounts Payable Specialist and seize the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in a fast-growing environment. This hybrid role requires one day per week onsite in our Hollywood, MD office. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will report directly to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and play a vital role in the precise processing of invoices using Deltek Costpoint.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute accounts payable functions, including 3-way matching, coding, reviewing, routing, scanning, obtaining necessary approvals, and entering data into Costpoint.

• Ensure compliance with governmental, regulatory, and legislative requirements, as well as company policies.

• Work collaboratively with functional analysts and contract personnel for accurate account and project designations.

• Investigate and resolve vendor inquiries relating to invoice discrepancies, payment terms, and invoice statuses.

• Maintain organized and accurate digital Accounts Payable files and correspondence.

• Prepare ad hoc reports for management as requested.

• Assist in year-end internal and external audits.

• Contribute to other projects as assigned by the Accounts Payable management.

Qualifications:

• No security clearance required; however, U.S. citizenship is necessary for work on DoD contracts.

• A minimum of 3 years experience in Accounts Payable.

• Proficient intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Detail-oriented, able to thrive under pressure, and meet deadlines.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Deltek Costpoint is highly preferred.

• Prior exposure to government contracts is desirable.

• Familiarity with the JTAR and GSA regulations.
