Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and expert care in a fast-paced cardiology clinic. As an Advanced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will support physicians and mid-level providers by delivering thorough assessments, treatments, testing, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection control and safe patient handling.
  • Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as prescribed.
  • Assist providers during procedures, maintaining sterile environments and managing instruments.
  • Support examinations within the scope of your license and perform phone triage.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, communicating test results and addressing patient inquiries.
  • Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs, height, and weight.
  • Manage and update medication lists and patient summaries.
  • Conduct point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
  • Educate patients on electronic health record tools and provide supportive teaching.
  • Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary authorizations.
  • Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols.
  • Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and professionalism while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Education

Graduation from an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course are required.

Experience

Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Certifications and Licenses

Must hold a current LPN license valid in the state of Missouri. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This role demands considerable mental focus and physical activity, including lifting up to 35 pounds, frequent walking, standing, turning, and reaching. The work environment includes exposure to infectious diseases and occasional challenging interactions.
