As an Associate Actuary specializing in Analytics and Forecasting, you will analyze and project financial, economic, and other critical data, providing essential insights that inform strategic and operational decisions. Your role will involve establishing metrics, ensuring data integrity, and performing in-depth evaluations to support business intelligence initiatives. By assessing industry trends, you will contribute to forecasting the organization’s financial and competitive positioning in both the short and long-term.
In this role, you will be tasked with data integrity by developing and executing essential processes that govern data flow. Collaborating with various stakeholders, you will analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions to data anomalies. This position will allow you to begin influencing departmental strategies and making informed decisions on various projects.
The Associate Actuary will also:
- Champion long-term projects that enhance technical maturity, process efficiency, and forecasting precision. We seek innovation, curiosity, and a proactive approach to navigating uncharted territories.
- Engage in independent research and work collaboratively across teams, utilizing strong communication skills to succeed in your role.

Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
- Eligibility for Humana's Actuarial Professional Development Program (APDP)
- Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
- Exceptional communication skills
- Proven ability to convey complex technical information to non-actuarial audiences
- A strong passion for improving consumer experiences
- 3+ years of experience in the health industry with an ASA, or 1+ years with an FSA
- 2+ years of SQL experience or equivalent expertise
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in Medicare Advantage
- A proactive attitude with a high level of self-accountability
- Experience with Python, PowerApps, and PowerBI
Travel: The position is remote; however, occasional travel to Humana's offices may be necessary for training or meetings.

Salary Range
This salary range reflects the estimated starting base pay for full-time employment. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location and individual qualifications.
$106,900 - $147,000 per year
This position is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on individual and/or company performance.
