University Health Partners of Hawaii Speech and Hearing Clinic (UHPSHC) is part of the team faculty practice of the John A. Burns School of Medicine. Our licensed and certified faculty clinicians provide diagnostic evaluations and therapeutic services to a diverse patient population of children and adults in an outpatient setting.
Our faculty clinicians provide clinical education opportunities for the Communications Sciences and Disorders (CSD) graduate program. CSD graduate students learn under the direct supervision of faculty clinicians to obtain the clinical education hours and experience, which are necessary in preparation for their off-campus clinical rotations, in order to become successful speech-language pathologists in the future.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Actively participate in faculty practice with a significant amount of time dedicated to diagnostic audiology assessment and aural rehabilitation including hearing aid dispensing.
Diagnose and manage children and adults with hearing and related disorders, including auditory processing disorders, tinnitus, and disorders of decreased sound tolerance.
Other scholarly and administrative duties as assigned.
Complies with all legal requirements and company policies.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education/Training
Minimum:
Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree from an accredited program in a college or university of recognized standing.
Clinical Certification in Audiology.
Eligible for audiology license in state of Hawaii.
Experience
Minimum:
Demonstrated clinical expertise and experience in audiology and ability to provide independent clinical audiology services in diagnosing and treating children and adults with hearing and related disorders (e.g., auditory processing disorders, tinnitus, disorders of decreased sound tolerance) and in aural habilitation and rehabilitation including hearing aid dispensing).
Evidence of proficiency in teaching.
Poise and confidence for outreach to JABSOM physicians and to community entities.
