Alongside clinical care, researchers and teachers from Metrocares Altshuler Center for Education & Research are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County while providing critical workforce to the state.

The behavior support fellow uses applied behavior analysis based techniques based on scientific literature; primarily behavior assessments, skills assessments, and behavioral intervention and training. This is an office based position working with children. All work will be supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assessments and Evaluations utilizing a variety of assessments such as the
Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills, or the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program, or the Developmental Profile-3, or the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales 2nd edition. Or the Aberrant Behavior Checklist.
Develop clear behavioral acquisition, intervention and reduction plans
Data analysis
Hands-on implementation, monitoring and adjustment of intervention plans
Provide parent and caregiver training to individuals families enrolled in the program
Provide staff training to those involved in the care of the individual
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Masters in Applied Behavioral Analysis or related field with emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis.
Minimum of one to two years experience in delivery of ABA to the autism or developmental disabilities population
Experience working with individuals ages 3 and up
Experience with Autism specific ABA/PBS program development and training.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Basic math skills required.
Ability to work with reports and numbers.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Ability to utilize Internet for resources.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain Texas Driver License within three (3) months of employment.
Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Centers liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business. Must have an acceptable driving record.
Eligible and approved to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Exam
Bi- annual training in CPR and annual training in SAMA
