Position Summary:

This position reports to the Manager of Behavioral Health Crisis and works under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager in various departments. You will provide direct and indirect clinical services to individuals of all ages who require behavioral health care. Your responsibilities include treatment planning, crisis assessment, therapy, and patient education, ensuring a compassionate environment in line with our Core Values: Teamwork, Communication, Respect, and Caring.

Education/Certification:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in the Behavioral Health field
  • State of CT Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), or equivalent
  • CPR certification is preferred; PMT and de-escalation technique training required within 6 months of hire

Experience:

Prior experience in the Behavioral Health field is preferred, with a focus on age-specific competencies.

Competencies:

Strong clinical skills, knowledge of psychiatric disorders, and familiarity with abuse and neglect reporting mandates are essential. Effective communication and flexibility in service delivery are key to fulfilling the dynamic needs of our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess and gather comprehensive bio-psychosocial information to inform treatment plans
  • Develop and modify treatment and discharge plans as required
  • Make timely referrals to appropriate levels of care
  • Complete required documentation following compliance standards
  • Participate in team meetings to enhance patient outcomes
  • Establish rapport with patients and families, ensuring empathy in all interactions
  • Facilitate skill development through planned therapeutic interventions
  • Manage violent situations effectively using trained techniques
  • Maintain awareness of learning disorders to adjust teaching methods appropriately
  • Identify and address barriers to treatment compliance
