The Driver I, CDL position involves safely transporting modular buildings and storage containers. This role emphasizes effective on-site customer coordination and delivery across varied locations while demonstrating a strong commitment to safety and service excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Driving & Transport:

  • Safely operate a commercial vehicle (26,000+ lbs) for transporting modular and storage units.
  • Navigate diverse roadways and customer sites with the appropriate equipment.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT or TC regulations.

Load Handling & Securement:

  • Properly secure loads using tie-downs, chains, and rigging to uphold safety and legal standards.
  • Ensure compliance with weight, width, and clearance limitations for delivery routes.
  • Monitor load integrity during transit and make adjustments as necessary.

Site Assessment & Delivery Planning:

  • Communicate regularly with dispatch and field teams on route updates and issues.
  • Confirm delivery windows and coordinate rerouting if needed.
  • Assess site conditions for potential delivery challenges.
  • Position units accurately based on customer instructions and spatial constraints.

Customer Coordination:

  • Act as the primary representative at the delivery site, confirming details with the customer.
  • Address site readiness concerns and actively resolve delivery issues.
  • Install Value-Added Products (VAPS) and promote recommendations to customers.
  • Provide courteous communication for a positive delivery experience.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Engage in safety meetings and training initiatives.
  • Adhere to safety policies and environmental guidelines consistently.
  • Document delivery statuses using mobile applications or logbooks.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 1+ years of related driving experience.

Required Skills:

  • Hold a valid CDL license with a clean driving record.
  • Maintain an up-to-date DOT or TC and Physical card.
  • Capability to operate independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in using digital tools for routing and communication.
  • Experience in commercial driving and securing loads.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with load security and construction environments.
  • Experience in commercial driving with wide-loads preferred.
