Responsibilities:

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides coordinated occupational therapy to patients of all age groups under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Participates in the coordination of care.

Provides services that are ordered by the physician as indicated in the plan of care, as developed, delegated and supervised by the OT.
Completes appropriate all documentation in a timely manner. Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and documents coordination regularly.
Facilitates patients' ROM, strength, coordination, use of adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications, functional mobility, and safety issues as related to patients' ADL performance under the supervision of the OT.
Applies concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordinating and performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills to provide patient and caregiver education.
Promotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third-party payors, through education, coaching, and other assistance as necessary.
Meets mandatory continuing education requirement of the Agency and licensing board.
Promotes the Agency philosophy and administrative policies.
Demonstrates commitment, professional growth, and competency.
Participates in the Agency's QAPI program.
Participates in Agency-sponsored in-service training.
Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy assistant with an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy

Licensure: Current State License to practice occupational therapy. A military spouse may engage in the practice of occupational therapy without obtaining the applicable occupational therapy license if the military spouse is currently licensed in good standing by another jurisdiction of the U.S. that has licensing requirements that are substantially equivalent to the requirements for the license in this state; Current driver's license

Experience: One year experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant preferred

Skills: Therapy skills as set forth in the Therapy Practice Act and other regulatory agencies, good interpersonal skills, proof of current CPR.

Transportation: Reliable transportation, valid and current auto liability insurance
