Clinical Dietitian - Full Time

Job Summary

• Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients to evaluate their dietary needs.
• Perform regular follow-ups and reassessments to monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Deliver engaging nutrition education to patients and healthcare staff to promote healthy choices.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as required to support overall patient care.

Qualifications

Education

Required: Completion of a program accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that qualifies for registration as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RD/RDN). A foundational understanding of various subspecialties, including but not limited to nutrition support, diabetes management, cardiology, renal dietetics, and oncology is necessary. Commitment to ongoing education with approximately 15 hours of continuing education credits needed annually. Stay updated with the latest research and findings in the field.

Experience

Preferred: At least six months of clinical experience in an acute care environment is preferred.

Licensure/Certification

Required: Must obtain registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and an Oklahoma State Dietitian license within six months of employment. A food handler's permit from the Cleveland County Health Department is required before, or within one week of, starting the position. Successful completion of general and patient care orientation is mandatory prior to engaging in patient care.

Required: Strong decision-making skills to prioritize patient care effectively. Ability to identify and address unsafe work conditions or practices. Competence in safely utilizing chemicals and equipment in relation to patient care. A solid foundation in evaluating nutritional formulas based on individual patient needs.
