Salary Range: $43.50 per hour
The Clinical Nurse is a crucial member of the Emergency Department team, responsible for assessing and managing the needs of patients throughout their care journey. Your focus will be on ensuring each patient receives competent, compassionate care from admission to discharge, seamlessly coordinating with various healthcare professionals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and document everything as per relevant regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
- Continuously assess patient needs and responses to the care provided.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in managing patient care decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer medications as ordered, both over-the-counter and prescription.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop and revise individualized patient care plans.
- Guide and direct ancillary personnel, upholding nursing standards of excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate from a recognized nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required.
- Must maintain certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
- 1-3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an Emergency Department of a large academic, Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
- Commitment to professional growth through ongoing education.
- Understanding of quality improvement principles and ability to apply them in patient care settings.
