Clinical Nurse I: Critical Care Float Pool - Night Shift

Join our dynamic Critical Care Float Pool team today! This is your opportunity to enhance and practice vital critical care skills across various units, including Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, and the intermediate care ICU - MSICU.

As part of our Critical Care Float Pool, you can also gain additional competencies in Emergency Department care and neuro-progressive care areas. Work with a highly skilled nursing team in the region's only Level I trauma center!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement physician orders and administer medications.
  • Start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests.
  • Document treatments following company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care.
  • Utilize sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
  • Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to develop a comprehensive Plan of Care for all patients.
  • Guide and direct ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license required.
  • Obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Knowledgeable in quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving techniques with the ability to apply them in support of quality improvement in patient care.
