Clinical Nurse I - Main OR - Days

Join the dedicated team at Albany Medical Center's Operating Room, where you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support. We are seeking a compassionate Clinical Nurse who values teamwork and is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of patients and their families.

As a Clinical Nurse, you will:

• Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments and special tests, and document care as per company policy and regulations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions accurately.
• Conduct thorough assessments to identify patient needs and evaluate responses to the provided care.
• Utilize sound nursing judgment in making patient care management decisions.
• Offer primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administer both over-the-counter and prescription medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to develop and implement comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
• Guide and support ancillary personnel while upholding nursing professional standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a professional academic nursing program conferring a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained and maintained.
• A minimum of 1-3 years clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care is necessary.
• Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills are essential.
• Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving techniques is a plus, with the ability to apply these in support of improving departmental and patient care quality.
