We invite you to join our dedicated Vascular Surgery team, where you will be directly involved in the care of patients with complex medical conditions. As a Clinical Nurse, you will assess, coordinate, and implement patient care throughout their stay, ensuring a seamless transition toward discharge.

Your responsibilities will include the delivery and coordination of patient care along with overseeing the caregiving team. You will guarantee that high-quality, compassionate care is provided to patients, families, and healthcare team members across various settings.

On our Vascular Surgery Units, you will care for patients with multiple co-morbidities, including those recovering from amputations and extensive vascular surgeries. We provide education in critical areas such as BLS, ACLS, Telemetry, wound care, Wound-Vacs, and central line management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests while documenting as required.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
  • Assess and evaluate patient responses to care rendered.
  • Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
  • Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Administer prescribed medications as ordered.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to develop a comprehensive Plan of Care for all patients.
  • Guide ancillary personnel and maintain professional nursing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree).
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Previous experience as a PCA or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Commitment to continuous education to enhance job performance.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement concepts and the ability to apply problem-solving techniques in patient care settings.
