Salary Range: $72,072.00 - $74,229.26

Hourly Salary Range: $34.65 - $35.69

The Colorectal Surgery and Urology Unit features 22 semi-private rooms, providing specialized post-surgical care for patients who have undergone colorectal and urologic surgeries.

Key Procedures Performed:

  • Assisting with chest tube insertion
  • Central line placements
  • Wound vacuum changes
  • Nasogastric (NG) tube management
  • Cortrak navigation
  • Catheter management and indwelling catheters

The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, directing, implementing, and managing the needs of assigned patients during their care journey with a strong emphasis on facilitating progress toward discharge and navigating transitional care within the acute setting. The nurse ensures that competent, compassionate patient care is consistently delivered to all customers, including patients, referring facilities, and hospital staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Implementing physician orders, administering medications, initiating IVs, and performing treatments and special tests while accurately documenting interventions in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  2. Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to effectively assess patients' conditions.
  3. Continuously assessing patient needs and evaluating responses to care.
  4. Utilizing sound nursing judgment in management decisions related to patient care.
  5. Administering over-the-counter and prescription medications as prescribed.
  6. Collaborating with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
  7. Providing guidance and direction to ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
  • Certification in BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC is required and must be maintained.
  • Commitment to continuous education for professional development.
