Clinical Nurse II - Colorectal Surgery & Urology - Night Shift

Work Schedule: Night (36 hours/week)

Salary Range: $72,072.00 - $74,229.26 (Hourly Rate: $34.65 - $35.69)

Unit Overview: Our Colorectal Surgery and Urology Unit features 22 semi-private rooms dedicated to post-surgical care for patients who have undergone colorectal and urologic surgeries.

Key Procedures Include:

• Assisting with chest tube insertions
• Central line placements
• Wound vac changes
• NG tube insertions
• Cortrak procedures
• Catheter and indwelling catheter management

The Registered Professional Nurse plays an essential role in assessing, coordinating, planning, implementing, and managing patient care throughout their treatment journey. Our focus is on ensuring a smooth progression toward discharge and effective transitions during the acute care stay.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments while documenting care as per regulations and policies.
2. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
3. Continuously assess and evaluate the needs and responses of patients to the care provided.
4. Utilize sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
5. Administer prescribed medications following physician orders.
6. Collaborate with the nursing team to develop comprehensive plans of care for all patients.
7. Guide ancillary personnel while maintaining high standards of professional nursing practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required.
• Must maintain certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
• A commitment to continuous education for performance improvement.
