Join our dedicated team in the Colorectal Surgery & Urology department, where compassion and excellence in patient care are our top priorities. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment for patients, their families, and your colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments and special tests while documenting as required by our policies.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess and understand patients' conditions.
  • Assess and evaluate patients' needs and responses to care provided.
  • Utilize sound nursing judgment to make effective patient care management decisions.
  • Provide both primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.
  • Administer medications as prescribed, both over-the-counter and prescription.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to develop a personalized Plan of Care for each patient.
  • Guide and direct ancillary personnel while maintaining high standards of professional nursing practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license required.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is mandatory.
  • 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care is preferred.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of quality concepts and problem-solving techniques is essential, with the ability to apply these in improving patient care quality.
