Salary Range: $76,396.32 - $126,730.61

The Registered Professional Nurse plays a vital role in assessing, coordinating, planning, directing, and managing the needs of assigned patients throughout their care journey, with a strong emphasis on progress toward discharge during their acute care stay. You will be responsible for the effective delivery and coordination of patient care, ensuring that both patients and referring facilities receive competent and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement physician orders and administer medications, including starting IVs, performing treatments, and conducting diagnostic tests.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care.
  • Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to create and maintain a comprehensive Plan of Care for all patients.
  • Guide and direct ancillary personnel while maintaining high standards of professional nursing.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license mandatory.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
  • Previous experience as a PCA or in other nursing assistance roles is preferred.
  • A commitment to continuous education and professional development.
  • Knowledge of quality concepts and ability to apply problem-solving techniques to improve patient care quality.

The Medical Cardiology unit is a 29-bed facility that includes 1 private room, 13 semi-private rooms, and one 4-bedroom area. Patients are admitted from various sources including the Emergency Department, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and physician offices, accommodating both acute and chronic cardiac conditions. The patient demographic ranges from young adults (18 years) to geriatric patients (100+ years), many requiring telemetry monitoring following procedures.
