Clinical Nurse II - Medical Cardiology, Night Shift

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our Medical/Surgical Cardiac Hospitalist unit. This position offers you the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients 36 hours a week on the night shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, coordinate, plan, direct, implement, and manage the needs of assigned patients throughout their care episode.
• Focus on patient progress toward discharge, including during transitions within the acute care stay.
• Deliver and coordinate patient care collaboratively with the caregiving team.
• Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and document all treatments as per policy and regulations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions effectively.
• Apply sound nursing judgment in managing patient care.
• Provide primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.
• Administer medications as ordered and collaborate with the nursing team to create comprehensive Plans of Care.
• Direct and guide ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• A graduate of a professional academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Prior experience as a PCA or other nursing assistance preferred.
• An ability to continually improve performance through ongoing education.
• Knowledge of quality concepts and problem-solving techniques to support patient care improvement.

The Medical Cardiology unit comprises 29 beds, including private and semi-private rooms. Our patient population consists of males and females with both acute and chronic cardiac and medical diagnoses, primarily requiring telemetry monitoring after various procedures. You'll care for patients aged 18 years to over 100 years.
