Clinical Nurse II - Post Cardiothoracic Surgery

Join our dedicated team in the Post Cardiothoracic Surgery department, where you will play a vital role in providing excellent patient care. This full-time position offers a schedule of 36 hours per week during the day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform essential treatments, and document patient care in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to effectively assess patients' conditions.
• Assess and evaluate patients' needs and their responses to care provided.
• Utilize sound nursing judgment in managing patient care decisions.
• Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
• Guide and direct ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate from a professional nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse license is required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained and maintained.
• Previous experience as a Patient Care Assistant or in a similar nursing role is preferred.
• A commitment to ongoing education and professional development is essential.
• Knowledge of quality concepts and problem-solving techniques to enhance patient care quality is beneficial.
