Clinical Nurse II: Surgical and Neuroscience ICU - Nights

Join our dedicated team in the Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as a Clinical Nurse II, where you will provide vital care to critically ill adult patients. Our unit comprises 30 specialized intensive care beds, delivering focused treatment for a diverse range of life-threatening conditions including:

• Major elective and emergency surgical procedures
• Multi-trauma and traumatic brain injury
• Stroke, seizure, and sepsis/multi-organ system failure
• Hemodynamic instability and failure to wean

As a nurse in this fast-paced environment, you will utilize your expertise in:

• ICP monitoring via EVD or bolt
• Spinal drains and catheters
• Brain oxygen monitoring and Artic Sun therapy
• Continuous EEG and intra-arterial catheter placement
• Mechanical ventilation and continuous renal replacement therapy
• Massive blood transfusions

Your responsibilities will also include:

• Implementing physician orders and administering medications
• Performing comprehensive assessments for critical patients
• Ordering and evaluating diagnostic tests
• Collaborating with the nursing team to develop Plan of Care
• Guiding ancillary personnel while maintaining nursing standards

We are seeking candidates who are:

• Graduates of a professional academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree)
• Holders of a current NYS Registered Nurse license
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Skilled in communication, organization, prioritization, and time management
• Knowledgeable about quality concepts and patient care improvement
