Join our dedicated Vascular Surgery team at Albany Medical Center, the premier hospital in the US verified as a Comprehensive Vascular Surgical Center by the Society of Vascular Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Nurse II to provide exceptional care to our patients, ranging from acute to chronically ill individuals with a variety of co-morbidities. Our patients typically require telemetry monitoring and are often between the ages of 45 and 65, undergoing procedures like Carotid Endarterectomy, Lower Extremity Revascularization, Renal Stenting, and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repairs.

As a vital member of our nursing team, you will enhance the patient experience through kindness and effective communication while managing complex healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments and document as required.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
  • Assess and evaluate patients' needs and responses to care.
  • Utilize sound nursing judgment in patient management decisions.
  • Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Administer prescribed and over-the-counter medications as directed.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to develop individualized Plans of Care.
  • Guide and direct ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor’s Degree).
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of quality concepts and ability to apply problem-solving tools to improve patient care.
