Salary Range: $72,072.00 - $74,229.26

The Clinical Nurse II plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive patient care within the Vascular Surgery department, ensuring each patient's needs are met throughout their healthcare journey. This position is dedicated to creating a seamless experience, especially during critical transitions in care.

As a Clinical Nurse, you will coordinate and oversee care provided by the healthcare team and ensure that our patients receive effective, compassionate care. You will be working with patients facing a variety of complex conditions such as recent amputations, vascular wounds, and extensive surgeries to enhance blood flow.

On this unit, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills through continued education on essential topics including BLS, ACLS, telemetry, wound care, Wound-Vacs, and central lines.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, and performing necessary treatments and procedures, documenting as per company policies and regulations.
  • Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to provide accurate assessments of patient conditions.
  • Assessing and evaluating patient needs and responses to care provided.
  • Using sound judgment to make informed patient care management decisions.
  • Providing immediate care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Administering medications as ordered, taking into account both over-the-counter and prescription types.
  • Collaborating with the nursing team to develop personalized Plans of Care for all patients.
  • Guiding and instructing ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor's Degree).
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained and maintained.
  • Previous experience as a PCA or in a similar nursing assistance role is preferred.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
  • Knowledge of quality concepts and principles with the ability to apply them for patient care quality improvement.
