The Clinical Nurse is a vital member of our Emergency Department team, responsible for assessing, coordinating, planning, directing, implementing, and managing the care of assigned patients throughout their acute care episode, with a strong emphasis on facilitating discharge and transitions. This role ensures that all patients receive competent, compassionate care, while collaborating closely with the caregiving team to provide a high standard of service to our community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, and performing required treatments and tests while adhering to company policies and regulations.
- Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to assess and identify patient conditions.
- Assessing and evaluating patient needs and responses to care provided.
- Applying sound nursing judgment in managing patient care effectively.
- Providing primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administering medications as prescribed, both over-the-counter and prescription.
- Collaborating with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
- Guiding and directing ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program resulting in a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
- Current Registered Nurse license in New York State.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC is mandatory and must be maintained.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department is preferred, ideally in a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
- A commitment to continuous education for professional growth.
- Knowledge of quality concepts and principles with demonstrated application in quality improvement initiatives.

The Emergency Department serves as a Level I Trauma Center and offers round-the-clock care for patients of all ages. Our facility includes 45 treatment rooms across various specialized zones: Major trauma and critical care, Resuscitation and minor care, Pediatrics, Acute care, and Rapid Care. We have additional amenities, such as a dedicated radiology suite, negative flow rooms, clerical workstations, and more, to enhance patient care and streamline operations.
