Join our dynamic Emergency Department team as a Clinical Nurse III, working 36 hours a week during night shifts. Our department is a Level I Trauma Center that proudly serves as a regional referral center for patients seeking acute care around the clock.

Your role will involve assessing, coordinating, planning, directing, implementing, and managing the needs of assigned patients throughout their care journey, with an emphasis on discharge planning during transitions in the acute care setting. You will play a crucial role in delivering and coordinating compassionate patient care alongside our caregiving team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, and performing treatments and procedures while documenting all actions according to company policies and local/state/federal regulations.
  • Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to effectively assess patients' conditions.
  • Assessing and evaluating patient needs and responses to care provided.
  • Making informed nursing judgment decisions in patient care management.
  • Providing primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.
  • Administering medications as prescribed, both over-the-counter and prescription.
  • Collaborating with the nursing team to create comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
  • Guiding and directing ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in New York State.
  • Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC must be obtained and maintained.
  • 1-3 years of clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department, preferably within a large academic, Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
  • Commitment to improving job performance through continuing education.
  • Knowledge of quality concepts and the ability to apply problem-solving tools and techniques to support quality improvement in patient care.
