Clinical Nurse III - Critical Care Float Pool - 36hrs/week, DAYS

Join our dynamic Critical Care Float Pool team! This is a great opportunity to enhance your critical care skills across various specialties including: Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, and the intermediate care ICU- the MSICU.

As a Clinical Nurse in our Critical Care Float Pool, you will also have the chance to gain competencies in the Emergency Department and neuro-progressive care areas. Work in all the Critical Care settings at the region's only Level I trauma center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement physician orders and administer medications.
• Start IVs and perform treatments and procedures as required.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
• Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care.
• Apply sound nursing judgment in managing patient care.
• Provide primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to create and implement Plans of Care.
• Direct and mentor ancillary personnel while maintaining professional standards of nursing.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
• Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of quality concepts and ability to apply these in support of patient care quality improvement.
