Clinical Nurse III: Critical Care Float Pool - Nights

Join our dynamic team in the Critical Care Float Pool! This is your chance to enhance and practice critical care skills in various areas, including Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, and our progressive critical care unit.

As a part of the Critical Care Float Pool, you will have the unique opportunity to broaden your competencies in Emergency Department care and neuro-progressive care areas while working at the Region's only Level I trauma center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement physician orders and administer medications.
  • Start IVs, perform treatments and document in accordance with company policies and regulations.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care.
  • Use sound nursing judgment for patient care management decisions.
  • Provide emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to create a comprehensive Plan of Care.
  • Guide ancillary personnel and uphold nursing standards.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from a professional nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
  • 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Progressive Care or ICU.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement principles and problem-solving techniques.
