Clinical Nurse III - Vascular Surgery

Join a leading clinical team at Albany Medical Center, the first hospital in the US to be verified by the Society of Vascular Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Vascular Surgical Center. Our Vascular Surgery Units focus on patients with vascular disease and other surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring, predominantly ranging in age from 45 to 65 years.

As a Clinical Nurse III in our Vascular Surgery team, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to patients with complex needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to actively engage in patient management and collaborative healthcare.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing physician orders, managing medications, and providing essential treatments and procedures.
• Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
• Conducting patient assessments and evaluating responses to the care provided.
• Applying sound nursing judgment in managing patient care.
• Providing primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.
• Collaborating with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care for patients.
• Guiding ancillary personnel and maintaining high standards of professional nursing practice.

Minimum qualifications include:

• A degree from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• At least 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
• Strong communication, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of quality improvement concepts and problem-solving techniques.
