Clinical Nurse IV: Critical Care Float Pool - Per Diem Role

Join our dynamic team in the Critical Care Float Pool today! This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance and practice your critical care skills across various areas, including Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, and Intermediate Care ICU - MSICU.

RNs in the Critical Care Float Pool will also have the chance to gain additional competencies in Emergency Department care and neuro-progressive care areas.

As part of our team at the Region's only Level I trauma center, you will:

  • Implement physician orders and administer medications.
  • Start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, documenting treatment as required.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care.
  • Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management.
  • Provide primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to create a robust Plan of Care for patients.
  • Direct and guide ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of quality concepts and ability to apply problem-solving techniques for patient care improvement.
