Clinical Nurse – Med Surg Float Position

Salary Range: $72,072.00 - $74,229.26

The Med Surg Float Pool Nurse works across various departments, including medicine, post-surgical, and emergency care. This dynamic role provides the opportunity to enhance your nursing skills while delivering vital care to a diverse patient population.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, and documenting care in accordance with company policy and regulatory standards.
• Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
• Assessing and evaluating patient needs and their responses to care.
• Applying sound nursing judgment in managing patient care.
• Providing immediate care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administering over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
• Collaborating with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care for patients.
• Directing and supporting ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
• Must hold a current New York State Registered Nurse license.
• Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• A minimum of 1-3 years of clinical RN experience is necessary.
• At least 1 year of Telemetry or ICU experience is preferred.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
• Understanding of quality concepts and demonstrated ability to apply these in enhancing patient care.
