The Med Surg Float Team Nurse is essential for providing care across the medicine, post-surgical, and emergency departments. Embrace a dynamic role where you assess, coordinate, plan, direct, implement, and manage patient needs throughout their care journey, with a special emphasis on preparing for discharge.
This position demands your expertise in delivering exceptional patient care while leading the caregiving team to ensure competent and compassionate service to all patients, hospital staff, and facilities across various settings.
Hourly Range: $36.73 - $60.93
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and perform necessary treatments and procedures while documenting in accordance with company and regulatory policies.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to effectively assess patients' conditions.
- Continuously assess and evaluate patient needs and their responses to care.
- Exercise sound nursing judgment in managing patient care.
- Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer prescribed and over-the-counter medications as directed.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop a comprehensive Plan of Care for all patients.
- Guide and supervise ancillary personnel to uphold professional nursing standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from a professional academic nursing program with a conferred Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor's Degree.
- Current Registered Nurse license is required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained and maintained.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of clinical RN experience required.
- At least 1 year of experience in Telemetry or ICU is necessary.
- Commitment to continuous education for performance improvement.
- Understanding of quality concepts and the ability to apply problem-solving techniques to enhance patient care quality.
