The Registered Professional Nurse plays a vital role in patient care, overseeing and managing their needs throughout their hospitalization with a focus on ensuring a smooth transition toward discharge. This position requires a compassionate approach to provide high-quality care for patients, collaborating with a dedicated caregiving team to achieve the best outcomes in an acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments and document all actions in compliance with regulations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to closely assess patients' conditions.
• Regularly assess and evaluate the needs and responses of patients to the care provided.
• Employ sound nursing judgment to make informed management decisions concerning patient care.
• Administer primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational health issues.
• Dispense over-the-counter and prescription medications as instructed.
• Collaborate with nursing colleagues to create comprehensive and personalized Plans of Care for patients.
• Guide and support ancillary personnel while maintaining the highest standards of nursing professionalism.

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor’s Degree.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained and maintained.
• 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care is preferred.
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills are essential.
• Familiarity with quality improvement principles and problem-solving techniques applicable to patient care is necessary.

Per Diem Rate: $43.50 (rates vary based on shift)
