Salary Range: $72,072.00 - $74,229.26
About the Role: As a Clinical Nurse, you will assess, coordinate, plan, direct, implement, and manage the care of assigned patients, focusing on their progress toward discharge and throughout their stay in our hospital. You will ensure that our patients receive competent and compassionate care, working closely with our multidisciplinary team.
The Medical Cardiology unit features 29 beds, including a private room, semi-private rooms, and accommodations for group care. We serve a diverse patient population, including individuals with a variety of cardiac and medical conditions, ranging from young adults to seniors requiring telemetry monitoring after both minimally invasive and invasive procedures.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, and documenting care according to policy and regulations.
- Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
- Providing thorough assessments and evaluations of patient needs and responses to care.
- Applying sound nursing judgment in patient management decisions.
- Administering primary and emergency care for a range of illnesses and injuries.
- Collaborating with the nursing team to create individualized patient care plans.
- Directing and mentoring ancillary personnel while maintaining high standards of nursing practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program resulting in a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Prior experience as a PCA or nursing assistant is preferred.
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
- Knowledge of quality improvement concepts and ability to apply them within patient care settings.
