Salary Range: $68,640.00 - $70,699.20
Position Summary:
The Clinical Nurse plays a vital role in the Operating Room by assessing, coordinating, and directing care for surgical patients throughout their entire episode of care. This position focuses on ensuring a smooth transition toward discharge, acting as a dedicated patient advocate during surgical procedures. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for delivering and coordinating care while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Implement physician orders and administer medications within the sterile field, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment in decision-making.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
- Act as an advocate for patients in the surgical setting, ensuring their needs are met.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a professional nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree preferred.
- Must hold a current NYS Registered Nurse license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; CNOR certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of quality concepts and principles, with an ability to apply these in support of patient care quality improvement.
