Commercial Floor Installer

We are based on the Sunshine Coast and are seeking an experienced Commercial Flooring Installer to join our growing commercial flooring business.

Pre-requisites

• A Certificate III in Floor Technology or related field and 2 years on job training, or relevant work experience (minimum 3 years) installing commercial flooring solutions including carpet, vinyl, laminate and hybrid flooring
• Experience (minimum 12 months) with subfloor preparation, concrete (grinding and levelling), and installing specialised products such as SynSisal, Modulyss and Tretford, RC&C and various imported materials
• Current drivers licence preferred to attend work sites
• Hold Queensland construction induction training card (white card) or able to obtain one

Duties

• Follow plans and drawings to plan out your work
• Estimate quantities and prepare flooring materials for installation
• Measure and mark out floor layouts
• Remove existing floor coverings as required
• Grind and polish concrete, and seal concrete floors
• Prepare, patch and level subfloors
• Cut flooring materials to the required specifications and layouts
• Prepare and apply epoxy coatings, lay underlay, install smooth-edge and apply adhesives
• Prepare and lay broadloom carpets including Aximinster
• Install carpet tiles
• Install vinyl laminate and hybrid flooring products in straight and herringbone configurations
• Fit edge trim and thresholds
• Repair or alter existing flooring where necessary
• Some ordering of materials and oversight of subcontractors is required
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with WHS standards

Your duties are to be mainly performed around Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Brisbane CBD and surrounding areas. Some interstate travel will be required for some projects.

Annual salary is $90,000 plus superannuation (Full Time position)
