The Commercial Loan Officer responsible for managing and growing the bank's commercial loan portfolio by identifying and originating new business loan opportunities, as well as maintaining and deepening relationships with existing business customers. This role requires a deep understanding of lending practices, credit analysis, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Business Development: is responsible for generating new loan opportunities by prospecting, networking, and building relationships with potential customers, referral sources, and other stakeholders. This includes conducting research and analyzing market trends to identify emerging business opportunities and industries.
• Credit Analysis: responsible for analyzing credit risk, reviewing financial statements, and assessing the overall creditworthiness of potential borrowers. This includes conducting site visits, interviews, and gathering additional information as needed to make informed lending decisions.
• Loan Origination: responsible for originating new loans, negotiating terms and conditions, and presenting loan packages to the bank's loan committee for approval. This includes working closely with borrowers to gather required documentation and information, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and monitoring loan performance throughout the life of the loan.
• Portfolio Management: responsible for managing a portfolio of loans, monitoring loan performance, and taking appropriate actions to mitigate risk. This includes ensuring timely payments, identifying potential problems, and working with borrowers to develop solutions.
• Customer Service: responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all customers and maintaining positive relationships with borrowers, referral sources, and other stakeholders.
• Leadership: Serve as an officer of the bank to support branch personnel and represent the bank in the community.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in commercial lending or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills, including financial analysis and credit risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
