Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing Computed Tomography (CT) scans to produce cross-sectional images of tissues and internal organs, assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Schedule: 10-hour day shifts, varied

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
  • Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CT)) in computed tomography.

Additionally, one of the following is required along with documented training in providing diagnostic CT exams:

  • Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
  • Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N).
  • Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Computed Tomography Technologist or two years as a Radiological Technologist with CT education or experience, preferred.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver patients safely as part of job functions.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Perform CT scans on patients, including preparation, explanation of procedures, and positioning for optimal imaging results.
  • Enter and monitor patient data accurately.
  • Conduct quality assurance on CT equipment and assist with accreditation applications.
  • Report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
  • Take emergency calls and may be required to work weekends or float to other locations as needed.
  • Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies and standards.
  • Support individual growth through mandatory and continuing education, serving as a mentor for less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to compassionate and personalized patient care, embodying Memorial Hermann's service standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
