We're seeking a Controller and Director of Finance to oversee the daily operations of our accounting and finance teams. You'll utilize data, reporting, forecasting, and analysis to inform business decisions and add value to the meaningful work we do. This position maintains a system of internal controls to ensure assets are safeguarded and financial reporting complies with all policies and US GAAP. Join our team, get a $2,000 sign-on bonus!

 

Responsibilities and Duties

Leadership. Oversee the general accounting function, including: General Ledger Accounts and Financial Reporting, Contract Service and Development Revenue, Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting, Cash Management/Treasury, Client Fiduciary Accounts, A/P and Payroll, and Low-Income Housing Accounting. Implement and enforce policies and procedures to support internal controls.

Reporting. Develop financial and operational reporting. Create financial pro-formas, dashboards, and ad-hoc reports. Ensure reports are prepared timely and in compliance.

Operations. Maintain financial records. Develop budgets and forecasts. Coordinate work related to audits. Ensure reconciliations are complete. Direct outgoing payments.

This is a hybrid position that will work three days per week from Kerr Administrative Center. 

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance.
  • Licensed CPA (active or inactive status) or CMA is preferred.
  • At least six years of experience in accounting and finance with progressively responsible duties including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, audit management and fund accounting.
  • At least three years of management experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to see data patterns and identify anomalies.
  • Experience developing solution sets and models with limited data.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
