Working for the fleet services industry since 1990, American Midwest Fleet Solutions (AMFS) has been providing innovative products to the fleet market, as well as 12-volt aftermarket equipment, GPS, Telematics, Security, Decals, specialty equipment and field up-fitting services throughout North America.
The ideal candidate will be a Controller with great organization skills, experience with implementing proocesses and procedures, and the ability to lead and mentor growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, hand's on, detail oriented leader who is able to make decisions at the local level and still partner with the corporate team to help drive initiatives. AMFS is a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Must have excellent communication skills and be adept at partnering with a variety of internal and external individuals and departments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions.
Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of departments. Then, implement reporting metrics for early warning detection and correction of unfavorable performance occurrences.
Oversee the monthly closing process.
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and prior year.
Oversee daily operations of the accounting/finance department.
Preparation of monthly reporting and analysis.
Manage the coordination and preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
Prepare special projects and financial analysis for discussions with management concerning product investment and/or pricing decisions.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
Work with department managers as well as corporate staff to develop approved operating forecasts and strategic plans.
Implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
Maintain effective staffing and oversee departmental efforts in meeting goals and objectives.
Assist Corporate Controller with financial audits as needed and provide recommendations for procedural improvements and control deficiencies.
Other duties as assigned by Corporate Controller and/or CFO.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for coordination, control, reconciliation and reporting of Physical Inventories as needed.
Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff, when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Accounting/Finance required
4+ years of overall general accounting experience in a fast-paced environment
Strong Excel Skills (Pivot, V-lookup, Reporting)
Strong process and procedures implementation
Proficient in ERP systems, preferred Net Suite experience
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
Strong MS Office skill set
Some travel for learning and collaberation, as required
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule
