Position reports to: Business Analyst

Summary:

The Cost Accountant will support Wildeck by working with Supply Chain, Operations and Business Analyst to identify issues and improvement opportunities and implement best in class standard cost processes and reporting.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Review and analyze standard costs assigned to product components, manufactured, and outsourced, and manufacturing processes.
Responsible for ensuring integrity of the rolled-up costs and overall standard costs based on material, labor, and material overhead rate
Work with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance team to perform analysis to identify root causes of standard costs issues and propose solutions in a prioritized manner
Monitor and analyze cost of goods sold financial performance, providing reports and recommendations to management.
Report and understand variances and their causes. Develop and pursue root cause and continuous improvement process with operations. Examples include; spending, productivity, manufacturing, and purchase price variances.
Work with Accountants to perform month end close entries related to inventory and standard costs, perform balance sheet reviews, reserve analysis and inventory reconciliation.
Proactively identify business process gaps and opportunities for improvement within the cost accounting and inventory management cycles.
Performs special projects and provide support to the Finance Team as needed

Requirements:

Must have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related degree with a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience within a complex manufacturing environment with large amount of part numbers and standard cost changes.
Epicor or similar ERP system experience required.
Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated proficiency preferred.
Highly analytical, self-starter, with the ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
Passion and ability to implement processes and the drive and tenacity to exceed performance expectations and manage change
Strong communicator who understands the need to build trusting relationships through all organizational levels, and capable of presenting information tailored to diverse audiences
Physical Requirements include: Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, kneeling, crawling, pulling, extended periods of standing, ability to lift 25 pounds.
