Position Summary: As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will provide essential clinical services to patients in need of behavioral health interventions in our Emergency Departments. Your role will involve:

  • Conducting age-appropriate assessments and interventions for a diverse patient population.
  • Performing crisis triage, individual and family interventions, and case management.
  • Collaborating with communities and coordinating treatment plans.
  • Providing education to patients and families.
  • Maintaining insurance verification and collaboration.
  • Offering flexible coverage in behavioral health services when skill sets allow.

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Master's Degree with licensure in a Behavioral Health field (LCSW, Licensed APRN, or PhD).
  • Certification in CPI de-escalation techniques required within 6 months of hire, provided by ECHN.

Key Competencies: Strong clinical and communication skills are essential, including:

  • Team orientation and effective multitasking in a dynamic environment.
  • Significant knowledge in psychiatric and risk assessment.
  • Experience with abuse and neglect reporting and Managed Care Organizations.
  • Competence in engaging with patients compassionately and respectfully, considering cultural differences.
  • Ability to respond swiftly to emergencies, including patient restraint when necessary.

Essential Duties: Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in individual clinical supervision and case presentations.
  • Applying various interventions for a diverse patient population.
  • Exhibiting up-to-date knowledge of community resources.
  • Conveying empathy and genuine support to patients and families.
  • Coordinating with emergency department staff to manage patients effectively.
  • Documentation of all required forms accurately and promptly to meet regulatory standards.
