Join our dynamic team in the Critical Care Float Pool! This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and enhance your critical care skills across various departments including Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, and our intermediate care ICU, the MSICU.

Position Details:

  • Work Shift: Nights (36 hours/week)
  • Salary Range: $72,072.00 - $74,229.26
  • Hourly Pay: $34.65 - $35.69

As a Critical Care Float Nurse, you will also have the chance to gain additional competencies in Emergency Department care and neuro-progressive care areas. Experience working in all critical care units at a Level I trauma center, and become part of a highly skilled nursing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments/procedures, and document care according to policies and regulations.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care.
  • Utilize sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
  • Provide emergency and primary care for injuries and illnesses.
  • Collaborate with nursing teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Guide and supervise ancillary personnel while maintaining nursing standards.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree).
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • 1-3 years of clinical nursing experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with quality improvement concepts and ability to apply them in patient care.
