Dietary Aide

We are a non-profit long term care facility that offers independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care. At Sharon Towers our team member's number one responsibility is to deliver compassionate resident care every time!

The dietary aide will work within our healthcare dining services department to efficiently and effectively prepare and delivery food to our healthcare residents.

In compliance with new federal requirements for Long Term Care, Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for all employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Be able to interpret and implement written or oral policies, procedures, and instructions.
Possess the knowledge to follow therapeutic diet orders for residents
Have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
Be ethical, honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and rights and privacy of others.
Successfully pass a criminal background check and onsite drug test.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Handles food using proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and procedures
Ensures that food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner
Maintains the proper temperature of food during service
Records food temperatures according to established policy.
Assists with the setup of the tray line.
Plates food according to the planned menu and tickets, stated portion, resident food preferences, and diet order

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

You must be capable of heavy lifting of an average of fifteen (15) pounds or more for 5.5 hours or 11.5 hours shift.
You must have the ability to see and hear, or to use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that position requirements can be fully met.
You should have sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher. You must be able to move continuously throughout the work day.
