We're looking for an experienced Director of Business Development - West to help accelerate our growth across the Western U.S. utility market. If you have deep powerline industry experience, strong relationships with utilities and municipalities, and a track record of turning $20M business lines into $50M+ performers, we want to talk.
What You'll Do
Drive Growth - Lead regional strategy to expand our power delivery business, with a focus on transmission, substation, and distribution opportunities.
- Build Relationships - Engage key leaders in IOUs, cooperatives, public power, and local municipalities across the West.
- Grow Revenue - Generate leads, shape bid opportunities and win strategic projects to scale annual revenue beyond $50M+.
- Develop Pipeline - Build a strong portfolio of pursuits aligned with market demand and operational capabilities.
- Collaborate - Work closely with estimating, operations, and leadership to position us competitively on every pursuit.
- Represent the Brand - Attend industry events, present capabilities, and be the face of our organization in the Western market.
What You Bring
10+ years in powerline construction, utility services, or power delivery business development
Proven success landing work with utilities & municipalities (transmission, substation, distribution)
Strong regional network across the Western U.S.
Experience growing a business line from $20M $50M+
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Ability to travel 40-60% as needed
Bonus Points
Bachelor's in business, engineering, or related field
Experience with EPC delivery, storm response, or underground/overhead line work
Familiarity with utility procurement processes and contract structures
