About the Role
The Director of Finance plays a critical role in shaping the financial future of the institution by designing and maintaining a sophisticated, multi-year financial model that can adapt to changing circumstances. This position requires staying informed about news, state legislature updates, and educational board meetings to effectively forecast and communicate financial implications to stakeholders. The successful candidate will lead a values-based budgeting process, oversee budget development, and carefully evaluate spending requests throughout the fiscal year.
The Director of Finance will ensure the accuracy of financial calculations, monitor compliance submissions, and conduct budget-to-actual analysis across the organization. This role includes leading strategic financial analysis, as well as managing internal controls for the accounting team, while presenting comprehensive reports to the finance committee.
To thrive in this position, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, with an MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred.
