Responsibilities
The Director of Hospice Services is a Registered Nurse (RN) who oversees all aspects of terminal care, with expertise in pain and symptom management and prior experience in hospice care. This role entails managing staff, understanding documentation requirements, and coordinating service delivery and case management. Exceptional communication skills and a compassionate approach are crucial for addressing the needs of patients, families, and staff.
The Director supervises daily office and clinical operations, steering the planning and execution of interdisciplinary team interventions. Responsibilities include assigning the right staff to patients and families and stepping in as a nursing staff member when required. Additionally, you will participate in community education and awareness initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current RN license from an approved nursing school in your state
- At least two years of nursing experience within the last 36 months, including one year in a hospice setting
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations surrounding hospice operations
- Computer proficiency is required
