Director of Training & Competence

Join a dynamic and growing financial services firm renowned for its inclusive and supportive culture as the Director of Training & Competence. In this pivotal role, you will take charge of developing and enhancing the Supervision Framework, ensuring robust oversight of ARs and advisers across the organization.

As a key member of the Assurance senior leadership team, you will serve as the subject matter expert on T&C Supervisory oversight. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining strong AR oversight controls that protect the partnership.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the delivery of all T&C activities in alignment with relevant handbooks, policies, and procedures, demonstrating comprehensive oversight of ARs.
• Leading teams and managers to foster positive consumer outcomes through a customer-centric approach.
• Identifying opportunities within firms and advisers to minimize risks and promote favorable outcomes for consumers.
• Recognizing trends and opportunities to optimize supervisory resources.
• Implementing the Certification and Conduct Rules controls as part of SMCR.
• Representing the firm at T&C related industry events, groups, or committees.
• Providing accurate and timely FCA data submissions.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Extensive experience leading T&C functions within a financial services environment.
• A strategic mindset with a proven track record in designing T&C Schemes, Supervision Frameworks, or AR oversight that align with FCA expectations.
• Experience managing large, geographically diverse teams along with a budget exceeding £1 million.
• In-depth knowledge of effective SMCR controls.
• The ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.

This is a home-based position, with regular travel to Swindon required.
