The Division Chief of Rheumatology will provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the Division. The Chief will be responsible for all planning, policy, operations, and oversight of academic, research, and clinical programs of the Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of day-to-day operations, including:
    • Faculty Affairs
    • Educational and training programs
    • Research programs
    • Patient care programs
  • Faculty and staff recruitment and retention.
  • Development and implementation of new academic programs and services.
  • Commitment to patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD/DO) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Academic Experience: Eligible for University of Mississippi Medical Center academic appointment at Associate Professor level or higher.
  • Certification: Board certified in Rheumatology, eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Mississippi.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive administrative experience in academic medical center setting.
  • Research and Achievements: Preferably NIH-funded or sponsored-research portfolio with impactful publications and national distinction in teaching, clinical care, and research discovery.
