About The Role
My client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join the E&I team at our top tier COMAH site at the Saltend Chemicals Park in Hull.
As the Maintenance Supervisor you will be required to lead the team of E&I maintenance technicians, technical planning coordinators, subcontract resources, through the client's Maintenance Process (VMP).
As part of the role, the post holder will be responsible for delivering the maintenance strategy to ensure high standards of safety, quality assurance, statutory compliance, cost control and efficient work processes.
There will also be the requirement to supervise and co-ordinate the work of various contractors and semi-skilled staff engaged in reactive and planned works. Applying leadership within the maintenance team is a key aspect of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Implementing and maintaining high standards of safety suitable for an upper tier COMAH site. Coordinate the maintenance resources/process to support optimised continuous production activities and prevent loss of throughput and/or efficiency that might affect commercial profit and loss.
Role specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work closely with Planners/Scheduler in order to facilitate successful execution of the weekly planned works together with T&I's Ensure key responsibilities are communicated to all work parties and monitor the progress of the weekly scheduled work and report in the daily calls
- Confirm correct implementation of all PM, PdM and corrective programs with adequate analysis and timing.
- Continuously review, coordinate and follow up weekly potential and actual overdue work orders to mitigate against rising backlog numbers
- Monitor overdue work orders for critical and non-critical equipment and ensure the deferral process is followed.
- Establish annual training plan for each employee and ensure compliance with training matrix.
- Develop, monitor and manage KPI's for your relevant function and provide feedback as required.
- Work with the planners and engineers to ensure all tooling/equipment requirements are met and procure new as required.
- Ensure documentation of maintenance activity and equipment history, including as found, repairs, spares usage and man hours.
- Develop/review maintenance procedures for maintenance activities and ensure they are signed off by the relevant discipline engineer at the required periods.
- Follow up with Operations to ensure equipment are released for maintenance activities and give updates on maintenance statuses.
Additional Information
- Engage will relevant stakeholders for further checks on unforeseen findings.
- Report any major item status in the daily scheduling call.
- Provide required feedback and Communicate all Backlog concerns that require management involvement.
- Identify budget needs and control costs within maintenance budget.
- Assist in ongoing reviews of maintenance strategy to ensure fit for purpose and continuous improvement.
- Assist in the Performance reviews as required for the yearly PDP program.
- Manage technician availability through holiday/ absence tracking

Knowledge - skills and experience required
- HNC/ HND desired
- Previous exposure to an upper tier COMAH site
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent experience
- Experience of leading a team
- Experience working with CMMS systems (AX Dynamics preferable)
