About B3W Elective Orthopedics:
B3West is a 24-bed unit with private rooms focused on post-surgical services, catering primarily to elective orthopedic and Total Joint surgeries. The dedicated nursing staff provides exceptional care to post-surgical patients along with orthopedic trauma and general medical-surgical patients.
As a Clinical Nurse, you will play a vital role in fostering a compassionate and caring environment for patients, families, and colleagues by demonstrating kindness and effective listening skills. Your contributions are valuable and integral to our mission's success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document all care as required by policies and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess and diagnose patient conditions.
- Continuously assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care provided.
- Utilize sound nursing judgment in managing patient care decisions.
- Deliver primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer medications, both over-the-counter and prescription, as ordered.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
- Guide and direct ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program that awards a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree.
- Must possess a current NYS Registered Nurse license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
- 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care is preferred.
- Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills are essential.
- Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving techniques is important, with the ability to apply them effectively in patient care quality improvement.
